Bidding Rules

Auctions in August is an online auction that runs from August 1-August 31, 2023. To bid on an item, you must create an Auctions in August account with a username and password. You will utilize this same login information each time you would like to place a bid. Bidding is open to the public, but bidders must be 21 years of age or older to bid on age-restricted items such as wine. 

During the regular auction period, you will receive an email confirming when you are the highest bidder, and you will receive an email if you are outbid. Please note that you will not receive an email if you are outbid during the silent bidding period.

Silent Bidding

On August 31, the silent auction period begins. The silent bidding period lasts for 30 minutes, and the timeframe for each item is listed on the website. These silent bidding periods are staggered, so please note the time for the item that you are bidding on and when that ends.  

Before the 30-minute silent period begins, the highest and last bid will be posted for bidders to see. Bidders will have one last opportunity to place their highest bid during this period, and all bids placed at this time are private. In case of a tie bid during the silent time, the bidder who placed in the first bid will be the winner.

Winners will be informed via email and will pay for their item(s) via credit card online.

Value of Items

The value of items is determined by the donor and not by Gulf Coast Bank. 

Items Won

If you won an item, you will receive an email informing you of your winning bid. Winners are responsible for payment via credit card before pick up, and all items must picked up September 6-13, 2023 at the Auction Center (1817 Veterans Memorial Blvd., Metairie, 70005).
 
Cost of shipping item(s) is the responsibility of the winning bidder if applicable after payment is received.
